A Sweet Christmas Tree

The Park Lane Jakarta welcomed the holidays in style by constructing a record-breaking puff pastry Christmas tree.

Encouraged with the sacred spirit of Christmas, The Park Lane Jakarta celebrated the end-of-year festivities by breaking an Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) for the Tallest Choux (Puff Pastry)
Christmas Tree. This record breaking tree is 9 metres tall and 2.65 metres in diameter, and was built in only 15 days, which is very impressive.

A total ingredients of 115.2 kg of flour, 76.8 kg of butter, 192 litre of water, 2,112 eggs, 2.88 kg salt and 5.76 kg sugar, which made up, quite literally, a very sweet tree wrapped by 18,000 choux (puff
pastries) with ingredients.

MURI officials present at the ceremony, Jaya Suprana and his wife, Aylawati Sarwono handed the award officially to The Park Lane Jakarta’s General Manager, Darrel Cartwright, on the 10th December, 2015.
