On 29 November 2023, this luxurious haven hosted an unparalleled experience designed to awaken the senses and celebrate Indonesia’s natural beauty, artistic prowess and cultural heritage.
At the heart of this milestone event is the launching of Indonesia Unveiled: The Daniel Kordan Nature Photography Exhibition. Renowned photographer Daniel Kordan, with his remarkable talent and passion for nature, casts a spellbinding visual narrative through his lens. Transporting beholders into Indonesia’s paradisiacal landscapes and diverse ecosystems, Kordan’s work encapsulates the allure of lush rainforests, pristine beaches and exotic wildlife that define this archipelago’s splendour. His portfolio showcases Indonesia’s beauty but also serves as an educational beacon, inspiring photographers of all calibres.
The exclusive exhibition promises to be a visual feast, gracing the halls of The Stones Hotel for a month. Visitors have the unique opportunity to admire and acquire limited edition masterpieces, each photograph a testament to Kordan’s deep affinity for Indonesia’s natural marvels.
A special treat awaited as Poyang, the Dayak dancer, and his group from Banjarmasin, Kalimantan, animated Kordan’s captures through a mesmerising Dayak dance performance on the event day, adding a dynamic layer to the visual storytelling.
Adding a symphony of cultural resonance, the celebration resonated with the melodic tunes of Saung Angklung Udjo (SAU) by the main pool. SAU, with its rich legacy dating back to 1966, champions the preservation of Sundanese culture and angklung music. Beyond a performance, it was an immersion into the craftsmanship of bamboo instruments and a glimpse into the enchanting melodies that define Indonesian heritage.
