Seasoned international hotelier Stephan Karl takes the helm as Cluster General Manager at two complementary Hyatt properties along Bali’s most energetic coastline.
Stephan Karl isn’t a stranger to the larger Hyatt brand. He joined the family in 2006, having held leadership positions in different properties and categories of the Hyatt portfolio in Asia Pacific and North America, including Park Hyatt Dubai and Sydney, Grand Hyatt Beijing, Alila Mayakoba (formerly Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya), Hyatt Regency Nha Trang, and Andaz Singapore. Now, he’s expanding his résumé, stepping in as Cluster General Manager of Alila Seminyak and KLEO Seminyak, part of JdV by Hyatt.
His international perspective is shaped by 25 years of experience across different touchpoints of hotel operations, from Food & Beverage and Banqueting to Rooms. It allows him to have a holistic understanding of hospitality that goes beyond guest experiences and satisfaction. He also demonstrates commitment to developing strong teams and fostering environments that encourage colleagues to grow through collaboration, open-mindedness, and a people-focused approach.
At Alila Seminyak, the emphasis remains on the guest journey the brand is known for, creating luxury experiences while respecting the resort’s environmental, cultural, and natural ties to the local community. For the neighbouring KLEO Seminyak, Stephan is set to strengthen the hotel’s position as a contemporary, characterful destination led by a penchant for life’s most stylish pleasures, especially as with easy access to the area’s dining, shopping, entertainment, and cultural experiences.
