Seminyak’s beachfront shifts gear as the afternoon light softens over the Indian Ocean. This September, W Bali – Seminyak introduces Alunê, a new beach club taking over the former Woobar space and bringing a fresh social rhythm to one of Bali’s most familiar sunset addresses. Its name blends alunan, the Indonesian word for a flowing rhythm, with lune, the French word for moon, setting the tone for a venue shaped by movement and the coast.
Design studio WELD builds that idea into the room itself. Orange-tinted glass and hand-cut mosaic catch the changing light, while a hand-painted timber bar moves between ocean blue and burnt orange. Rosso Alicante marble meets green quartzite, with grey teakwood grounding the palette. Within the resort, W Bali’s Whatever/Whenever service provides the hospitality framework, while Alunê’s layout moves from open social areas to private pool cabanas with uninterrupted ocean views.
The food programme takes a similarly focused approach. Lobster Roll pairs premium lobster with spring onion and ikura in brioche. Catch of the Day Sashimi features the freshest local fish with ponzu and chilli oil, finished with lime. Signature Frozen Bowls offer lighter options, using local fruit with natural colour from ingredients like blue spirulina or açaí.
Drinks come into sharper focus as dusk approaches. The Ivory Tide combines vodka with almond milk cordial, orgeat and elderflower, finished with cream for a rich nutty character. The Sunset Ritual pairs twilight cocktails with live sound. “We’ve created more than a beach club—we’ve created a destination inspired by Bali’s natural rhythm, where exceptional dining, immersive entertainment, thoughtful design, and meaningful connections come together. As the sun drops in front of the club, Alunê moves naturally from beachside afternoon to a livelier evening rhythm. Food and music carry the room into night while the changing light remains part of the experience.
