Featuring a special concert by Kamasean Matthews, a talented Indonesian Idol finalist, the UNICEF Check Out For Children charity event takes place at the Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali on July 12th. At just 17 years of age, Kamasean was the youngest contestant in Indonesian Idol history when she participated in this national competition in 2012. She has since gone on to become a YouTube sensation, blessed with a magical voice that transcends all musical genres. She is also an accomplished composer and plays several instruments including the piano and guitar. During her time at The Westin, Kamasean will meet and greet fans in an exclusive one-hour sharing session as well as wow guests with a heartfelt musical collaboration with children from a local choir and some of the best performers from leading musical schools around Bali. All proceeds will be donated directly to a UNICEF project that provides educational opportunities and vaccinates children across the Asia Pacific Region.

A WILD AFFAIR
Right before summer, Bali Safari & Marine Park (BSMP) held a Wild Affair media gathering that included resident local, Indonesian national and international media to showcase the theme park’s Wild Affair Campaign. This event was held in the Panorama Lounge of Mara River Safari Lodge as well as inside the Tsavo Lion Restaurant. Hosted by a 3-year-old cheetah, considered the fastest animal in the world, the African safari animal charmed dozens of guests under the full moon. The event was also attended by Hermawan Kertajaya, a marketing guru. He entertained the audience with a lively and informative speech about his experience on the Night Safari, part of the Wild Affair campaign that was created by Bali Safari & Marine Park.
Wild Affair is a nature excursion campaign that features the interactive relationships between human, nature and animals, creating an emotional bond and sparking passion for the sustainability of endangered animals. Wild Affair emerges on BSMP signature products such as the Tsavo Lion Restaurant, Mara River Safari Lodge, Elephant Back Safari, Night Safari, Safari Journey, Safari Poo Paper and many more. After Kertaiaya’s talk, guests enjoyed dinner in Tsavo Lion Restaurant followed by a live cooking demonstration of their signature banana flambé dessert.
A WORLD CLASS COCKTAIL
Bartender Bayu Wiseso from the iconic Bali beach club, Ku De Ta, was selected as the winner of the this year’s Indonesia Diageo ‘World Class 2013 National Finals’ with his winning cocktail, ‘MoonTease’. Held at Mejekawi, Ku De Ta’s chic tasting kitchen, Bayu successfully beat five other finalists and won the title of ‘Bartender of the Year, Indonesia’. Representing Indonesia at the Global Finals, which will be held aboard the boutique Azamara Club cruise ship, ‘Azamara Journey’, the voyage begins in the French Riviera and will include stopovers in some of the Mediterranean’s most stylish destinations including Barcelona, Ibiza and St. Tropez. While Bayu won first place, first runner up went to I GustiSalit Made Ari from W Resort and Spa (Bali) and Dadan Agisna Ramadhani from Ayana Resort & Spa’s ‘Rockbar’ on the cliffs near Jimbaran Bay.
