Bali Island School Celebrates Exceptional IBDP Results and Unveils Enhanced Campus Facilities for the 2023 Academic Year

As the 2022-2023 academic year drew to a close, Bali Island School (BIS) proudly heralded its impressive achievements in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This significant academic milestone was coupled with the exciting inauguration of upgraded school facilities, solidifying BIS as a top choice for internationally-minded families in Bali and a leading institution within the global network of IB schools.

In a recent announcement, BIS lauded the Class of 2023 for their outstanding performance in the IBDP, with an impeccable 100 percent passing rate and an impressive average score of 34.29 points. Remarkably, the highest-achieving student garnered an impressive 42 points, while four students were bestowed with the coveted Bilingual Diploma – a distinction reserved for candidates who excel with a grade of 3 or higher in two languages within the DP course studies.

Comparatively, these results outshone the global statistics, with BIS exceeding the worldwide average. The school’s remarkable achievements include an average score of 34.29, in contrast to the global average of 30.24, and an exceptional 100 percent pass rate compared to the global average of 79.67 percent.

Klaus Weber, the Diploma Programme Coordinator at BIS, expressed pride in these accomplishments, emphasising that the school’s commitment to academic excellence remains unwavering. He commented, “BIS is proud of once again having a passing rate of 100% and an average IBDP score of 34.29 with both numbers being significantly higher than the world average. Apart from the great academic achievements of the Class of 2023, we are extremely proud of our students because of the people they chose to become – humble, courageous, and responsible young adults ready to build more caring communities wherever they go. Congratulations to all BIS graduates of the Class of 2023.”

Mike Miller, Head of School at BIS, echoed these sentiments and stressed the importance of holistic education. “I am proud of the recent IBDP results that BIS students gained. We will continue to emphasise the important life skills, attitudes, and aptitudes that students acquire during their primary and secondary school journeys, aside from Academic achievement,” he affirmed.

Furthermore, in line with BIS’s mission and vision to be the preferred educational institution for internationally-minded individuals, the school unveiled its commitment to enhancing and expanding its facilities. The improvements include a state-of-the-art 300sqm multi-purpose room, capable of accommodating a diverse range of functions, presentations, workshops, and gatherings for up to 300 people.

There are also four modern, spacious classrooms, each covering 100sqm, equipped with cutting-edge technology such as smart TVs, interactive projectors and various IT equipment to provide students with an optimal learning environment.

Three interconnected classrooms spanning 110sqm, fostering collaboration between grade 3 and 4 students and offering a conducive workspace.

Renovation of three science laboratories, now meeting industrial standards, and equipped with the latest scientific instruments to support research, analysis, and practical skill development in biology, chemistry, and physics.

The introduction of an executive meeting room designed for gatherings of up to 10 people, open for the entire community to utilise for productive meetings contributing to the school’s advancement.

With these enhanced facilities and a thriving International Baccalaureate programme, Bali Island School solidifies its reputation as the premier choice for internationally minded families in Bali and asserts its position as a trailblazing leader among IB schools in Indonesia and beyond.
