Continuing its mission to highlight the wide variety of Indonesian culture, The Apurva Kempinski Bali is back with a series of enlightening programmes that covers music, photography and dance.

To start, the five-star hotel has collaborated with one of the country’s most renowned musicians, Aksan Sjuman. Through Anthology of Indonesian Music, the majestic resort invites you to learn more about the fragments of selected Indonesian music every Saturday from 4pm to 6pm, where the artist in residency, Truedy, introduces and conducts an exceptional performance to bring these musical notes to life.

Anthology of Indonesian Music was established under the umbrella of the Jakarta Arts Council and it brought together influential musicians such as Aksan Sjuman, Anto Hoed, Anusirwan, Otto Sidharta and more, who classified the development of music in Indonesia and compiled it to become Indonesia’s historical and musical bible.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali also returned with its Gallery of Art programme at the hotel’s Pendopo Lobby in April. The Gallery of Art programme has found home in the Pendopo Lobby since 1 December 2022, as part of the Powerful Indonesia campaign.

Aiming to appreciate the talented artists of Indonesia, this time the programme featured an enchanting collaboration between the Indonesia-based photographer Stephane Sensey and the iconic Indonesian traditional dance maestro Didik Nini Thowok, who performed a majestic dance of Tari Dwimuka Jawa-Bali. Stephane’s photography exhibition can be enjoyed until the end of June 2023.
