The Flaming Lips Oczy Mlody

Available from 13th January

The Flaming Lips is an American rock band from Oklahoma renowned for its deep, multi-layered, psychedelic/space rock. Out in January, Oczy Mlody will be the band’s 16th album release in a career that began way back in 1983. In a recent interview with The Future Heart, Wayne Coyne, founder member and lead singer, explains that the title is broken Polish for the phrase “eyes of the young”, which also features in the title of one of the album tracks, “Sunrise (Eyes of the young)”. For those new to the haunting sound of The Flaming Lips, a preview of the album’s first single, “The Castle”, is available on YouTube.

Tinie Tempah Youth

Available from 27th January

Heavy on collaborations and some creative sampling, but with a distinctive funky dance-rap style, Youth will be the third studio album released by British rapper and producer Tinie Tempah. He first exploded onto the rap scene with two number-one singles in 2010 taken from his debut album, Disc-Overy. The first single from the upcoming album, “Not Letting Go”, which features Jess Glynne, also debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart last year – his sixth, record-breaking, number one in the UK charts.

Marilyn Manson SAY10

Available from 14th February

SAY10 is the working title of the tenth studio album by American rock band Marilyn Manson and is due for global release on Valentine’s Day. Something of an enigma, Marilyn Manson, known for a controversial image and outrageous performances, has not released anything for two years and, while information is scant, it’s rumoured that SAY10 will represent a complete change of musical direction for the band. But with eight previous releases all debuting in the US top 10, including two number-one albums, this provocative platinum selling band is always one to watch.
