In an effort to protect marine ecosystems, The Meru Sanur and Bali Beach Hotel, The Heritage Collection collaborated with the Turtle Conservation and Education Center to release Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings in celebration of World Turtle Day.
Marine life plays an important role in the backbone of the Bali ecosystem. In an effort to preserve the oceanic biodiversity, The Meru Sanur and Bali Beach Hotel, The Heritage Collection marked World Turtle Day by releasing a crop of sea turtle hatchlings along the coast of Sanur, collaborating with the Turtle Conservation and Education Center, on 22 May 2026.
In this second iteration of the resorts’ annual initiative, community members and partners were invited to assist the dainty Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings as they waddle into the oceans. The species, among the most commonly found in Indonesian waters, plays a vital role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems, including sustaining the health of coral reefs and seagrass beds, supporting coastal vegetation, and controlling jellyfish population.
