In mid-March, Dior showcased its Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear collection at its boutique in Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta. The lush event was attended by Dior devotees, fashion influencers and celebrities such as Ayla Dimitri, Velove and Wulan Guritno.
For the Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director at Dior, drew inspiration from the archival photographs of Christian Dior’s sister, Catherine, showing her surrounded by flowers in her garden. An avid gardener, Catherine was also a member of the French Resistance and was interned in a German concentration camp during World War II. Catherine’s determined spirit has been translated in the collection, which includes utilitarian-leaning designs, like the striped burlap romper, to Chiuri’s famously feminine dresses.
