Reimagining Plastic Waste at W Bali – Seminyak

The five-star resort is collaborating with Plastik Kembali to host an inspiring and sustainable art exhibition.

To raise awareness of the waste issue in Bali, W Bali – Seminyak, together with Plastik Kembali, a Lombok-based circular art and homeware design company, proudly presents an art exhibition titled Reimagining Plastic Waste: LAND | SEA | SKY. The unique exhibition features a vibrant series of art installations crafted from recycled plastic waste.

The exhibition kicked off on 17 March 2023, and is running until 30 April 2023 at the resort’s Starfish Bloo restaurant. On 15 and 16 April 2023, the event will see a big two-day market, showcasing sustainable handmade crafts, including recycled art, tableware and more products from Plastik Kembali.

The artworks portray natural elements, such as the sun, coral reefs and more, through fibre art, rattan weaving, moulded sculpture and more, crafted by local artisans in Lombok using recycled and natural materials. The exhibition is not only visually mesmerising, but it also aims to inspire recycling between islands, through different cultures and across land, sea and sky.

“I am so excited and very much looking forward to this collaboration with Plastik Kembali by presenting a unique art exhibition that is made from plastic waste. This initiative is also in line with our continued focus on sustainability initiatives to reduce single-use plastic,” said W Bali – Seminyak’s General Manager Titus Rosier. “I hope with this collaboration we can support the local community to spotlight their skills and most importantly, reduce plastic waste by turning them into something useful,”
