The city’s energy and creativity come together through a new campaign that highlights Jakarta’s evolving cultural scene. Indonesia Fashion Week 2025 promises a dynamic platform where traditions meet contemporary ideas.
Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2025 officially introduced its new campaign, Ronakultura Jakarta, during an exclusive Menara Imperium, Jakarta event. Designed as a preview to the main event scheduled for 28 May to 1 June 2025 at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), the launch brought fresh energy to the city’s creative scene.
Prominent figures from fashion and government circles gathered for the occasion. Among them were Poppy Dharsono, President of IFW and Chairperson of APPMI; Andhika Permata, Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency; and Yuke Sri Rahayu, Deputy for Creativity, Culture, and Design at the Ministry of Creative Economy. Their presence reflected the growing significance of Indonesia Fashion Week, not only for the fashion industry but for the broader creative economy.
Carrying the theme Ronakultura, a blend of the words “ronak” (lively) and “kultura” (culture), this year’s campaign captures the dynamic character of Jakarta. In her speech, Poppy Dharsono highlighted how fashion is a living expression of culture and identity. She explained that Jakarta’s diversity, seen through its colourful batik motifs and nature-inspired designs, constantly inspires today’s designers.
Building on last year’s focus on Betawi culture, IFW 2025 expands its lens to celebrate Jakarta as a creative and cosmopolitan city. This development marks the second year of strategic collaboration between IFW and the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, reaffirming the commitment to position Jakarta as a business hub and a flourishing centre of culture and innovation.
Speaking at the event, Andhika Permata emphasised how Indonesia Fashion Week is evolving into more than a fashion showcase. It is becoming a vital platform that connects designers, artisans and businesses, encouraging collaboration that fuels economic growth and job creation across the creative sectors.
To bring the spirit of Ronakultura to life, the launch event featured the premiere screening of the IFW 2025 campaign video, a lively mini talk show and the official introduction of the IFW 2025 Icons: Jindan, Kayla, Reuben, Vebby, Dwiki and Sophia. The evening also provided a space for creative exchange, with a gathering that welcomed designers, partners and media representatives.
Indonesia Fashion Week 2025 will run five days at the Jakarta Convention Center, featuring over 200 designers and brands. Visitors can expect a complete programme of exhibitions such as runway shows, creative discussions, sustainable initiatives and more, making it one of the most anticipated events in Jakarta’s cultural calendar.
