The Stones Hotel, Legian, Bali – A Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel welcomes a new and refreshing addition to the team with the appointment of Daryn W. Hudson as the new general manager. The Australian started his career in hospitality a long time ago, when he worked as the restaurant manager for Conrad Jupiter’s Hotel and Casino in Australia’s Gold Coast in 2002.
His venture in Marriott International started in 2005 as the director of food and beverage for Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, also in the Gold Coast. From there he honed his skills in several Marriott hotels across the region, including Marriott Hotel Manila and Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel. He was first appointed as the general manager of Marriott Executive Apartments Sathorn Vista – Bangkok in 2013, before continuing his journey to Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Pangyo and The Stones Hotel, Legian, Bali – A Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel in Bali.
Throughout his career, Daryn has received numerous awards and accolades, including most recently 2016 Asia Pacific General Manager of the Year and 2016 Global Courtyard Diamond General Manager of the Year. His vision in his latest gig is to bring The Stones Legian to a new level lifestyle hotel by focusing on a refreshing topic amidst Bali’s ever-growing hospitality industry. Daryn is a strong believer in stories, not ones about him, and believes that what makes a difference in a hotel is the hotel staff’s individual talent and passion.
