Vong Kitchen Launches New À La Carte Menu

Alila SCBD Jakarta’s signature dining destination has prepared a series of new dishes, created by its world-renowned and experienced culinary team.

In its fourth year of existence, Vong Kitchen has been widely known by Jakarta’s market for its food quality and innovation. That being said, with the recent visit of Co-founder/Chef Cedric Vongerichten to Jakarta, as well as Vong’s in-house Chef de Cuisine Matthew Byk’s visit to the United States in return, they have combined their travel experiences into several new ideas implemented to the new à la carte menu. The new flavours will be available starting this November 2022, offering a new dining experience to the restaurant.

JG Egg Toast

This time, both Cedric and Matthew bring new dishes that are closer to the menu concept being served by Jean Georges in the United States, but presented in Vong Kitchen’s style and tweaked with unique ingredients that are rarely showcased in Jakarta. Savour creations such as the JG Egg Toast served in Toasted Brioche, the Hokkaido Scallop á la Plancha served with Crispy Scallion, as well as the Grilled Asparagus and Black Bean Vinaigrette. The main course showcases Crispy Japanese Sardines “Iwashi” served on Tomato, Garlic emulsion and shaved fresh Bottarga. On the meat section, Matthew shares his personal favourites: the USDA Short Ribs Fried Rice served with Pickles, Sunny Side Up Egg and Soy Glaze. Wrapping up the list, in-house Pastry Chef Fajar Irianto has prepared the Fluffy Pancake Soufflé served with Vanilla Custard and ice cream of the diner’s liking.
