Resorts and hotels under the Marriott brand located across Bali, Lombok and Labuan Bajo rally together for a cause supporting underprivileged schoolchildren in the region.
Marriott International continues its commitment in empowering the local communities with its initiative, Shoes To School, as part of their Serve360: Doing Good in Every Direction programme. Associates from 30 Marriott properties across Bali, Lombok and Labuan Bajo, including Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa and W Bali – Seminyak, joined forces to donate 2,750 pairs of shoes to disenfranchised students from schools located within the three regions.
On 28 October 2025, Fairfield by Marriott Bali Kuta Ngurah Rai hosted the handover ceremony, attended by representatives from Department of Social Affair, Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of Bali, local education institution partners and children welfare foundations such as William Booth, Tat Twam Asi, Yappa, Widya Asih Badung and Bukit Kehidupan.
“The Shoes to School programme stands as proof that with a shared purpose, we can create a positive impact for many,” said I Wayan Raksa, General Manager of Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa and Co-chair of the Marriott Business Council Bali.
Meanwhile, Subin Dharman, General Manager of W Bali – Seminyak and PIC of the Serve360 Pillar at the Marriott Business Council Bali, added, “Through this initiative, we hope to inspire our associates, guests, and partners to continue contributing to the well-being of the local community.”
As one of the brand’s longstanding efforts, Shoes To School demonstrates Marriott’s contribution in serving and empowering local communities. It also serves as an extension of a commitment to enriching education and connection, fostering a deeper sense of sustainability of human resources.
