Hyatt Regency and Andaz Bali Paints Sanur Skies with Flying Colours

The neighbouring Hyatt properties in Sanur brings back the annual Hyatt of Sanur Kite Festival, with Colors of Bali, Voices of Nature as the theme as a tribute to the local community, ethos, natural ecosystem, and traditions.

As Bali’s skies brighten up, the southern hemisphere’s cooler breezes blow in, and the ocean tides calm down. It sets the stage for a relaxing day on the beach, whether simply to catch the sun’s rays, bask in the serene ocean waters, or while away the days with some good company. But, to enjoy this weather as some local folks would, try a hand at kite flying, an activity that Hyatt Regency and Andaz Bali turn into an occasion with their shared annual Hyatt of Sanur Kite Festival.

This year’s event takes place on 3 July 2026, carrying the theme Colors of Bali, Voices of Nature. It draws from the long-standing philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, the harmonious balance between people, nature, and the divine. Hotel guests, local residents, community members, and friends and partners of the resort are invited to this gathering that celebrates the dynamics of Sanur: its coastal identity, fishing heritage, rich marine life, and a growing sense of community.

Various departments across the two resorts engage in a competition to create handcrafted kites, measuring up to five metres, before flying them on the day of the event. Respected Balinese kite artisans and cultural experts Kadek Armika and Kadek Meranggi, alongside a special guest judge, comprise the judging panel, which evaluates the craftsmanship, creativity, storytelling, and presentation of each kite.

More excitements are ready to entice throughout the day. It begins with a lively parade from both resorts to the festival grounds, underscored by gamelan musicians. Guests can catch cultural performances and traditional dances throughout the day, which they can enjoy while nibbling on some delectable treats or sipping refreshing drinks. As the sun sets over Sanur’s picturesque coast, Andaz Bali is set to unveil Andaz Twilight, a programme that transforms the resort’s beachfront space into a vibrant gathering place for live entertainment, family-friendly activities, bonfires, and a tempting array of dine and drink options.
