Q: Describe your responsibilities in under 10 words.
A: Leading the marketing strategy and brand growth of Jeevawasa.
Q: What makes a typical day?
A: No two days are really the same. My day usually moves between strategic planning, reviewing campaigns, working with our unit teams, looking at performance, and finding new opportunities to strengthen the brands under Jeevawasa. There is always something happening, so staying flexible is an important part of the job.
Q: What’s the toughest part of your job?
A: Balancing different priorities across a growing hospitality group. Every unit has its own character, market, and commercial needs, but the overall direction still needs to feel consistent. The challenge is knowing when to follow a bigger strategy and when to adapt it to what each property actually needs.
Q: What do you find most satisfying in your job?
A: Seeing an idea become something tangible and create a real impact. Whether it is a successful campaign, stronger brand positioning, better content, or seeing one of our units gain more attention from the right audience, those results make the work worthwhile. But beyond the results, I find it especially rewarding to lead and develop people, helping the team grow in confidence, capability, and ownership. Being part of a group that continues to grow across destinations makes that journey even more meaningful.
Q: Who has been the most influential figure in your career?
A: My leaders, who I still hold very dearly, even as friends and mentors who continue to guide me until today. Many of them remain part of my inner circle, and I still communicate with them regularly. I am grateful that those relationships have continued beyond the workplace, because their advice, perspective, and trust have continued to influence me professionally and personally.
Q: Name one really special thing about your brand.
A: The diversity within Jeevawasa. Each brand and unit has its own character, yet there is a shared ambition to create meaningful hospitality experiences. From established destinations to emerging ones, there is always an opportunity to build something distinctive.
Q: How do you unwind?
A: Good food, a quiet place, and time with my family. I enjoy discovering restaurants and experiences, spending time with my wife and son, travelling, and exploring new destinations.
Q: If you hadn’t taken this career path, what would you have chosen?
A: I would probably still be in a creative or business-driven field. I have always enjoyed understanding people, building ideas, and turning those ideas into something meaningful, so marketing and hospitality ended up being a natural combination for me.
