Aspiring Talents

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is delighted to reveal the shortlist of its Young Designer Competition.

With a goal of inspiring future generations of designers and advanced thinkers, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars held a fun competition for children aged 16 and below with its Young Designer Competition. First created to stimulate design talent and provide a welcome distraction for children living in this unprecedented time, the competition received a massive response from aspiring young designers in 80 countries.

Launched in early April, the contestants were asked to design their dream Rolls-Royce of the future, incorporating bespoke features and capabilities they could conjure from their imagination. After extending the deadline for two weeks, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars had received more than 5,000 illustrations. From these entries, the Rolls-Royce design team shortlisted entries, which are available to view in a special online viewing room. The overall winner of this competition will be announced in mid-July.

“Rolls-Royce encourages and enables the pursuit of dreams. As well as giving children a way to express their visions, this competition has really inspired us as a design team. It’s reminded us of the sheer power of the human imagination, and challenges us to bring that sense of scale, possibility and greatness to making our customers’ dreams into reality,” added Gavin Hartley, Head of Bespoke Design of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, who will be selecting the winners.
