Hong Kong Disneyland

Enter a magical kingdom inspired by fairy-tale dreams and explore the seven fantastic lands filled with beauty, exciting adventures and all your favourite Disney Characters.

Located adjacent to Penny’s Bay on Lantau Island, Hong Kong Disneyland is fully integrated into Hong Kong’s excellent public transit system. In addition, Star Ferry offers daily trips from Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry pier in Kowloon with a journey of about 45 minutes on its newly refurbished World Star boat.

Hong Kong Disneyland itself has three hotels, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Hollywood Hotel and the newly opened Disney Explorer Lodge. There are also options in the local area and in Hong Kong city.

The definitive name in theme parks, Hong Kong Disneyland opened in 2005 and although one of the smallest of the 12 Disney parks it loses nothing of the pizazz. The sprawling park is divided into seven areas: Aventureland, Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, Toy Story Land, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Main Street, U.S.A, each including themed attractions, activities and rides filled with excitement and a host of famous Disney characters new and old.

Here’s just a taste of some the things to see and do.

Attraction Picks

Mystic Manor is the centrepiece of Mystic Point and home to Lord Henry Mystic, a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. The stunning attraction creates a compelling environment filled with original characters and haunting music. Climb aboard one of Disney’s finest rides and see the artefacts and curiosities Lord Henry has collected from around the world come to life in this spectacular trackless ride system.

Found within Grizzly Gulch is the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars; an exhilarating, high-speed, multi-direction terrain coaster. The ride starts off as a pleasant scenic train ride but quickly develops into a delightfully wild ride. Buckle up and watch out for the grizzlies.

Hop onto Hyperspace Mountain and directly into a Star Wars battle. The adventure begins as Admiral Ackbar briefs you on your mission: the Rebel Alliance needs your help flying a reconnaissance vessel to survey an Imperial Star Destroyer spotted near Jakku. An elite X-wing squadron escorts you into hyperspace but you arrive only to find yourself surrounded by a swarm of TIE fighters. It’s a trap!

Battle the evil forces of Hydra on the Iron Man Experience. This is more than a ride, it’s an immersion into the world of Tony Stark. More Super Hero action will be introduced from 14th June as part of the Marvel Super Hero Summer!

Entertainment Picks

Meet Belle and the Beast, Cinderella and Snow White at Sleeping Beauty Castle, or Tinkerbell at Fairy Tale Forest and Sofia, Disney’s newest royalty, and learn what it means to be a real princess near the Storybook Shoppe. For Marvel fans, the Marvel Super Hero Summer gets you up close and personal with your favourite comic book heroes.

Head over to Adventureland for the Festival of the Lion King. With performances throughout the day the show combines acrobatics, singing and vibrant costume theatre, enacting scenes from the Lion King.

Join a classic Disney parade at Main Street, U.S.A. Check out the sky-high celebrations at the Flights of Fantasy Parade; join the fun of spring as Disney Friends lead a springtime celebration; or unleash your imagination when Mickey Mouse lights up the night with the parade characters and a pageant of magical visions in the Disney Paint the Night – Night-time Spectacular, followed by the iconic Disney pyrotechnics display over the spires of the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

With 10 restaurants, relaxation areas and day-long activities, a day or two at Hong Kong Disneyland is a captivating and memorable experience for children of all ages.
