Celebrating the World Sea Turtle Day, Jumeirah Bali invited guests to release 30 newly hatched olive ridley sea turtles, as part of Jumeirah Group’s global sustainability initiative.
In honour of World Sea Turtle Day, Jumeirah Bali hosted a meaningful and memorable Sea Turtle Release in collaboration with Eco Tourism Bali, continuing the resort’s deep-rooted commitment to marine conservation. This marks the third release event held since 2023, as part of Jumeirah Group’s global sustainability initiative.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the resort’s pristine coastline, the event welcomed in-house guests, media and partners for an afternoon filled with conservation learning. 30 newly hatched olive ridley sea turtles were gently guided towards the waves, embarking on their first journey into their natural habitat. For many of the guests, it was a once-in-a-lifetime moment, a rare privilege to witness nature in its most tender form. Adding depth to the day’s activities, the Turtle Conservation and Education Center led an insightful session exploring the importance of ocean health and environmental responsibility.
Jumeirah Group’s commitment to marine conservation extends far beyond Bali. In Dubai, the long-running Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project has rescued and released over 2,300 sea turtles since 2004, including 72 returned to the sea this month, some equipped with satellite trackers. Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, a partnership with the Environment Agency led to the release of 135 sea turtles on World Sea Turtle Day 2025. At Jumeirah Al Naseem, a guest-facing coral nursery developed with Ocean Revive has produced over 1,400 coral fragments, more than 300 of which have been transplanted into the sea as part of the DUBAI REEF initiative. Together, these efforts reflect the group’s global vision of sustainable hospitality.
“This release not only marks World Sea Turtle Day but also reflects our commitment to protecting Bali’s coastal ecosystems and contributing to Jumeirah Group’s global conservation mission,” said Ram Hiralal, General Manager of Jumeirah Bali.
As Jumeirah Bali continues to strengthen its role in environmental stewardship, initiatives like the Sea Turtle Release invite guests to engage with nature in a meaningful and mindful way. More than just a resort experience, it becomes an invitation to be part of something greater: to support conservation, to travel with purpose and to join a global movement toward responsible travel.
