Contrary to its name, there is nothing sad about the label Depression. The unisex ready-to-wear label features minimalist cuts in stark, draped designs, clean aesthetics and monochromatic colours. Founded and created by designers Kenny Lim and Andrew Loh, the label presents each collection as black comedy based on medical themes such as AW 12 Plastic Surgery, AW 13 Dysmorphia and a recent diffusion line called Antidepressant, featuring more colourful, casual and pocket-friendly wear. Depression has become a favourite among celebrities like Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas, Adam Lambert, Derrick Home, Michelle Chong and Randy Jackson. The designers have successfully created a collection that contains dramatic and fun outlooks that are both daring and playful in equal measure. The label is available overseas in more than 20 multi-brand shops in Hong Kong, Tokyo, the USA and Paris, among others, and can be found on Orchard Road at the flagship Orchard Cineleisure shop.
