Meet the designers – Cantik Swimwear

Behind the Brand

“When I first started Cantik, I tried to work out who our target demographic would be. I’ve since come to realise that this really can’t be boxed into a certain age bracket. Recently we held our first pop-up boutique and it was inspiring seeing women even into their mid to late 60s stepping out in an 80’s high-cut one-piece. Women who are bold, yet feel beautiful and quite humble within themselves – that’s the Cantik woman.”

– Designer, Catherine Heenan

Cantik Swimwear

Born and bred in both Bondi and Bali, the high-cut one-pieces and palm prints of Cantik Swimwear are the product of young Australian designer Catherine Heenan. Bringing strong, daring and directional aesthetics to today’s swimwear scene, the Cantik range is designed in Australia, made in Bali and uses luxe Italian fabrics that mix sophisticated custom prints designed to accentuate femininity, with bold Brazilian cuts.

Less than three years old, Cantik Swimwear has already gained a cult following in more than 50 countries worldwide. The brand rose to fame following its debut collection in 2013, when the signature one-piece and Palms print hit fashion magazines around the globe – including Sports Illustrated and Cleo – whilst international models such as Hannah Davis, Natasha Oakley and Bambi were spotted flaunting the swimwear at the world’s hottest locations.

The 2016/17 range will be debuting this summer and will be the fourth collection from Cantik. Bringing the brand’s quintessentially chic prints and eye-catching cuts, the collection will be available online and at various stockists worldwide, and also exclusively in Bali at Drifter Surf and at Seven Shores in Seminyak and Gili Trawangan.
