New Stylish Hotels: The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok

Since its construction in 1888, Bangkok’s Customs House has worn many hats: host to soirées celebrating the homecoming of King Rama V, a symbol of the gateway to Thailand, and the iconic backdrop of Wong Kar Wai’s seminal classic In the Mood for Love. Soon, it will assume the role of the centrepiece of The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok, extending the Hong Kong hospitality group’s streak of refurbishing historic sites across the United States to Asia.

Marking the debut of The Langham in Thailand and its second Southeast Asian property after Jakarta, the hotel brings its signature experiences that began all the way back in 1865 London, infusing it with Bangkok’s local culture. Housed within a former post office, the 75-room neo-Palladian crown jewel, which sits along the Chao Phraya River, connects guests to Bang Rak’s storied past through a luxurious lens.

Beyond the rooms, guests can look forward to a unique bar, an elegant patisserie, and T’ang Court, the brand’s renowned three-MICHELIN-starred Cantonese restaurant. Wellness takes centre stage at Chuan Spa, where treatments draw inspiration from traditional Chinese healing philosophies when the property debuts in late 2026.
