Merusaka Nusa Dua has reached a new milestone in its sustainability journey, officially receiving the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Certification from Control Union Indonesia on 14 August 2026. The recognition reflects the resort’s ongoing commitment to responsible tourism and sustainability across its operations, guest experiences, environmental initiatives and community engagement.
The journey began in 2023 with small but meaningful actions and has since grown into a more structured, resort-wide approach. Today, sustainability is woven into daily operations, with initiatives spanning environmental conservation, resource management and community engagement. Among its efforts are the Boemi Merusaka Organic Garden, food waste management in collaboration with Maggot House Bali, water conservation, regular beach clean-ups, mangrove planting, and coastal conservation activities.
The GSTC Certification provides internationally recognised standards that cover environmental, social, cultural, and management practices in sustainable tourism. For Merusaka Nusa Dua, this achievement marks a renewed commitment to creating a lasting positive impact for Bali, its communities, and future generations.
